LOCAL GOVERNMENT INCOME TAX CALCULATOR PROTOTYPE

Client: FUTURESILIENCE

Period: 2024-2025

We had the great opportunity to participate in the MULTILOCAL lab alongside the University of Tartu and the Foresight Centre. The goal of the Lab was to map the governance challenges and opportunities for local governments in the context of new residential mobility patterns and multi-local living arrangements.

CentAR contributed to this project by developing a prototype of a digital tool that allows local governments to simulate income tax revenue.

The prototype is based on population forecasts and the average annual incomes of local government residents, taking into account differences in gender, age, and occupational groups. Currently, the solution focuses on personal income tax and covers Tartu County, but it has the potential for further development in the future.

The MULTILOCAL lab is part of the larger FUTURESILIENCE project (https://www.futuresilience.eu/), funded by the Horizon Europe research and innovation program.
