The aim of the investments was to ensure greater safety and comfort for rail passengers and pedestrians crossing the railways and to make passenger train traffic more attractive. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">The analysis was based on a comparison of the costs and benefits of the two scenarios as required by the European Commission\u2019s cost-benefit analysis. Costs and benefits were taken into account both from the company\u2019s perspective (impact of the investment on the company\u2019s financial performance) and from the wider societal perspective (the monetary value of benefits and costs such as infrastructure charges, safety, time savings from faster service at stops and environmental costs of operating buses). <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">The analysis showed that the project performance indicators (net present values \u200b\u200bof cash flows generated by the investment) are negative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=\u201d1\/2\u2033][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">However, in the socio-economic analysis, due to the lack of sufficient data, it was not possible to take into account the benefit of the project\u2019s main objective, increased security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">In order to take into account security and equal opportunities, a multi-criteria analysis was carried out and it was found that investing with the support of the EU makes socio-economic sense. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">According to the transport infrastructure investment plan, the total cost of the investment was 102 million EEK.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"vertical-align: baseline; margin: 0cm 0cm 7.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">The results made it possible to finance the project from the funds of the European Regional Fund. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0cm; vertical-align: baseline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Merriweather; color: #5c6265;\">The analysis was commissioned by AS Consult O\u00dc, the final user of the work was AS Eesti Raudtee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This analysis was composed for assessing the  socio-economic cost-benefit of train stop reconstruction and bringing waiting platforms up to standard.
